The #Unicorn College Life

Here's a fun #Unicorn fact:

We ALL go to the same college! In fact, it's where we met and became the world re-known #Unicorns (I'm kidding. Nobody knows us. Except for Sanaa. She's a socialite)

So. The GREAT M.O.P Vaishnav College has a dress code. And it involves wearing Indian clothes. No sleeveless, no see-through, no tees even though we are an ALL GIRLS COLLEGE and there aren't any boys are dress codes must be strictly adhered to.

So, here are your (my) possible combinations:

1) Kurti + Tights/ Jeans/ Patiyalas
2) Shirt + Pants
3) Shirt + Long Skirt (No slits. TCH TCH.)
4) Sarees (Please don't)

That's about it. I really have nothing to say (I think I could DEFINITELY make my living as a fashion blogger, don't you?)

A #Unicorn Filled Beach

I don't go to the beach very often because:

1) Chennai is hot and dirty
2) The beach is quite far off (Don't hit me Rathna)
3) I just don't

HOWEVER. If you're NOT going to Marina beach where all the weird guys will just leer, I would seriously recommend some shorts and a tank/ a loose tee to the beach.

No bikinis in India guys. I'm all for #BodyPositivity and free expression but India just isn't ready for it. Unless you're in Goa, in which case, have fun.

Here's what a few friends and I wore to the beach at a private resort:

Get Your Indian #Unicorn On!

Truth be told, I'm not a fan on Indian clothes.

I'd much rather sit around in my pajamas/ shorts and a baggy tee and have a chill day but SOMETIMES being #Indian means you need to play the #GoodLittleIndianGirl.

Sarees, Kurtis, Lehengas Ghagras, Patiyalas... (and I'm running out of names so I'm going to stop) Oh! wait, anarkalis (See, I know Indian things) are all very fancy and also not.

Again, the only rule is DON'T OVERDRESS YOURSELF. 

Don't show up at a temple in a shiny SHINY Anarkali that you SHOULD be wearing to a wedding.
Don't show up at a restaurant in a saree unless you want to get certain strange looks.
Don't show up at a wedding on the beach in a long flow-y Indian saree and heels (you'll only fall flat on your face)

Oh, and also, KEEP THE JEWELLERY TO A MINIMUM. Nobody wants to see your entire collection of Gold at one time. 

One last thing, don't do TOO MUCH. If a saree is pink AND green AND blue AND yellow AND red, IT IS NOT A NICE THING TO WEAR. Run FAR away.

For the sake of it, here's the picture of me in a saree. With a friend. Be simple. Dress the occasion. (even if we are standing in a bathroom, I promise there was a RAGING party outside) (JK)

Dinner With A #Unicorn

WHAT DO I WEAR TO DINNER.

HMM. (I'm slowly realizing that I'm really bad at this clothes thing?)

Really, the only thing I do is dress for the occasion? (Or really, the place I'm eating at that night)

For example, going to a local Saravana Bhavan (#Chennaite) (I don't usually go there but still) would have me wearing any t-shirt and jeans. Like the picture on the left. Ignore the snow.

Going to something a little higher up like say Double Roti, Padrino or (Why can I NOT remember any restaurants) The English Tea Room would have me wearing a slightly fancier top (I TOLD you I was bad at this!) that might involve glitter or some fancy pattern, one that basically makes me look less- homeless?

Now, fancy dinners in starred hotels are completely different stories. Which self-respecting 18 year-old DOESN'T attempt to look slightly better than usual here?

I usually go for a skirt-top combination, a dress or a sleeveless top with pants. A dress is pictured below. Along with other outfits on non-unicorns.

I should probably asking you for tips on what to wear, but still. I hope my vague piece made the slightest sense.

Something extremely comfortable & where you can rub your butter filled fingers on your pants,hehe.

Dressing For A Movie, #Unicorn Style!

I watch a TON of movies. I swear, even a movie with a moderately - average reviews, and I WILL BE THERE. Why, you might ask? Well,

1) POPCORN.
2) POPCORN
3) It's a great way to spend time with friends/ family
4) There's usually a trip to the bookstore involved

SO. What do you wear to a movie?

I only have two rules:

1) NEVER OVERDRESS. All dresses/ crop tops/ stillettoes are NOT movie material
2) Never wear a DC tee to a MARVEL movie (or vice versa) (Yes, #UnicornNerd)

What I usually do is a simple tee with jeans (I can't handle shorts in the freezing AC) but I try avoiding BLACK because well, POPCORN POWDER!

So, that's about it. What do you wear to the movies?

Hello fellow Unicorns,

Going for a movie,need to slip on something comfy and casual but not too casual? GOD, too many options, dont know what to do? Well, theatres are big and chilly,so i generally slip on a hoodie with a pair of good fittings jeans and a good ol' pair of black converse.. keeps you warm and comfortable and is a super classy casual look, works for me!

   

LAZY UNICORN- At home days

So, chill time at home? Lazy Days feels? Just thrown on a spongebob tee and some double size pyjamas, its my ideal chill day outfit.

A  nice  checked  pj's, cold coffee and a good sitcom, makes up a nice lazy chill day.

Put On Your #Unicorn Pajamas

Since we are talking about the coveted #UnicornLifestyle (I'm not really sure WHO covets it, but for the sake of the argument, let's just say that is it. Coveted, that is.) we decided that our next topic should be...

CLOTHES.

Now, I'm a ridiculously antisocial person, so staying home and reading #AllTheBooks is my idea of a perfect day. Which means I have TONS of over flowing-ly loose (see also: baggy) t-shirts and equally comfortable shorts or sweats to wear around the place. Okay, maybe not TONS, but I do have five tees that I regularly swap around and wear (much to my mother's annoyance) ("WHY are you wearing this AGAIN, Aditi?") 

But let me tell you about my FAVOURITE outfit that include:

1. A Pair of Miffy Pajamas that my aunt bought for me from a Delhi Street Shop for JUST 200 bucks.

2. A Tyrion Lannister shirt my friend bought for me that could fit someone quadruple times my size (or even a bus) but I love it because it is SO COMFORTABLE.

Yes, I'm weird.
